BabyMonster (Korean: 베이비몬스터) is a fifth-generation K-pop girl band based in South Korea, like Katseye, also known as Baemon, which is an abbreviation of “BabyMonster.” YG Entertainment started preparing for a new girl group in 2018 after the launch of Blackpink (another girl group formed by YG Entertainment) in 2016.
